Transforming Curriculum Design
Using Google Apps for Education we can transform our curricula from static paper documents into interactive online student centric learning tools. You will learn how to combine Google Drawing, Forms, and Sheets to create a truly 21st century curriculum. With Google Drawing we can create a nexus for our online learning resources that hyperlink directly to learning goals, online assessments, and digital content. With integrated Google Forms and Sheets we will be able to quickly and accurately have students track their progress to their learning goals, and provide immediate data to guide instruction and learning.
Mastering Google Classroom
In this workshop you will learn how to take Google Apps for Education to an advanced level and then bring them together in your own Google Classroom. We will be learning how to create, manage and collaborate in Google Classroom from both the teacher and student perspective. Participants will learn how to truly turn Google Classroom into their student's online learning nexus by taking advantage of Google Drive integration, tips for adding more functionality like screencasting and even how to seamlessly merge Google Classroom with a class website.
Design Websites for Learning
Today the class website is as important as the classroom itself. A class website should be more than just a few pictures and links- learn how to create educational websites with learning resources, integrated assessments, custom search engines and more. You don’t have to be a web designer, or even know html, to have a site that helps students learn and achieve success. In this presentation you’ll learn how to create a potent educational website, along with advanced tools like how to incorporate video, slideshows, and even how to embed a Twitter feed into a class site.

Google Apps for Education can do more than just digitize old paper documents, instead it can transform them into new kinds of interactive learning tools. You will learn how to use Google Slides, Forms, and Drawing to create student centered online learning resources. You will learn how to take standard slide shows and convert them into interactive instructional activities, turn Google Forms into adaptive assessments, and use Drawing to modify images by turning them into hyperlinked learning graphics.
Lights, Camera, Learning!
Learn how to create your own educational videos for and with your students. You’ll learn how to create, edit and publish educational videos using YouTube. No special software or fancy devices are required. You’ll learn how to create amazing videos using a phone, tablet, and other devices, edit the videos using YouTube’s video editor, and publish them to the web. With a finished video you’ll learn how to embed it into a website or online assessment. Advanced techniques include how to mix in additional soundtracks, special effects, interactive links, and more.
Creating Tomorrow's Classrooms Today
Are we preparing students for our yesterday or their tomorrow? Once futuristic technologies like 3D printing, real time video conferencing and virtual reality were science fiction- now they're academic realities. In this workshop you will learn how to use affordable 3D printers and virtual reality sets, as well as free apps like Skype and Google Hangouts to expand your student's horizons. You won't have to buy thousands of dollars of equipment or learn computer programming, but with readily available technologies and free apps you will learn how help your students successfully prepare for tomorrow's opportunities today.
Flipping Education
Learn how to take your lessons further and make them more meaningful for your students by incorporating blended instruction techniques like flipped learning. In this workshop you will also learn how to integrate project based learning strategies to help your students dig deeper. Instead of just using technology to digitize worksheets, we'll be learning how to integrate technology with the purpose of revolutionizing your classroom.
